There are 2 main types of resellers

Affiliates: who either passively or actively promote the Web Widgets service. 20% referral commission on a continuous basis. Web Widgets retains the billing relationship with the customer.
Resellers: with a rebranded CMS system. Reseller has a direct billing relationship with their customers. Web Widgets are invisible to the end users. Web Widgets charge a trade price for web hosting to reseller.
Franchise: Proactive resellers in another country or state who wish to promote our product using the Web Widgets brand.

Affiliates - eg Business Consultants / Existing Users / Graphics Designers

Promote our service and earn 20% or more of your referred customers ongoing hosting fees forever (as long as you continue to host at least 1 website of your own, and they also). Most of our consultants also earn even more by directly billing their customers for training, web design, marketing and IT consultancy services. You don't need to send your CV or request our approval, just follow these instructions below.

Referral Commission Discounts

We will offer 20% referral commission based on the hosting fee of any customers you refer to us. The commission only relates to web hosting. It does not relate to domain names, web design or other services.

Commission is paid on the condition that you already host at least 1 website with us. The commission is for the full life of the other parties web hosting until they cancel that service. Your commission will be applied automatically everytime their account is charged for web hosting. If that customer ends up being a bad debt, we reserve the right to reclaim any commissions credited to your account for the unpaid hosting period.

You will also get a 20% discount on any additional websites you host with us. As will your referred customer, who will also be entitled to 20% discount on their second and subsequent websites. Therefore, you are only entitled to a referral discount on the referred customers first website. It should also be noted that if you have 2 websites on different hosting plans, the discounted hosting plan must also be the cheaper hosting plan.

Our affiliate tracking code works for most new customers, however, often referrals are made by word of mouth. If you are aware one of your referrals has progressed on their website, you may notify support to have the referral linked at anytime before and after their website goes live. If you notify us after the website has gone live, we cannot back date commissions, and commissions will begin from the next aniversary date only.

Commissions are not paid in cash to non GST registered persons. If you earn more commissions than your own hosting fees, then you may use these credits for domain renewals or web design services. You may also ask that they be transferred to another web widgets hosting customer. Commissions may be paid in cash to GST registered persons upon providing a suitable tax invoice.

How to get started

Just sign up for a 30 day free trial, and become familiar with our service. It's always a good idea to learn a product before you market it. When you create a new website for a customer or friend:

Login as yourself
Click the "Referrals" link on the bottom left menu once you have logged in.
Click the "Create A New Website" button.
Continue as normal until the contact details page, then enter your customers email address and proceed as normal.
You will be able to manage their account on their behalf via the resellers link while their website is under construction. You can continue to manage it later on if you set yourself up as an administrator in the security section of their website.

Whenever a customer pays their hosting fees, you will recieve 20% rebate of their payment. We also have banners and HTML code segments that you can cut and paste onto your own website, so that you can earn commissions from the comfort of home.

Conditions:

You will get a 20% rebate on the hosting fee paid by any of your referrals.
Rebates are calculated at the same date the referred customer is invoiced.
Rebates will be reversed if the referred customer does not pay their invoice.
You must be paying for hosting for at least 1 website in order to receive the rebate.
You will only get commission on the first website the referred customer has. That customer will be entitled to a commission of their own on any additional websites they host.
You may signup for referrals prior to having a live website of your own. Once you have 5 referred customers, you will have enough referrals to cover the hosting of your own website, and thus you can then go live without paying for hosting. You are only entitled to actual rebates on your account once your site is live. If your referred customers subqeuently cancel their hosting, then you will need to make up the difference with a cash payment on your hosting account. If your payment is not received by the due date, your hosting will be temporarily suspended until you either have referrred 5 new customers or paid the difference.
Rebates may only be used for website hosting and design services from Web Widgets. No cash payment will be made. For proactive resellers we can arrange for distribution of commissions if suitable taxation and invoicing criteria are met.

Web Widgets can be rebranded to your companies existing look and feel. Your customers will have no idea who Web Widgets are. The public side of your interface can have any look and feel you desire. The inside of our CMS will have a similar positional layout, but the branding and colours will be matched to your existing brand.

You will maintain the billing relationship with your customers directly. We will bill you at trade prices similar to those in the affiliate chart above. Rates are subject to negotiation depending on the number of customers, and level of support provided by the reseller or required by the reseller.

You must dedicate 1 website on a premium rate, retail priced hosting plan, eg $60/month or higher. This website may already exist and be promoting your standard business. We will connect all your reseller capabilities to this website. Therefore, this website can never been moved away or cancelled without affecting all your hosting customers.

You will be able to resell domains and provide a domain search function. We will negotiate a trade price for domains, typically around the $25 per year mark. Your customers will receive their renewal notifications from your email address. They will be instructed to pay you directly for domain renewals at a retail price that you determined. You can then complete the registration and renewal of domains via our system at our trade price, or use a third party system, or ask us to do it for you.

You can charge any rate for web hosting, and you can disable the lower priced hosting plans to maximise your margins. Higher hosting plans are harder to sell however, and lower prices erode your margins. The comparitive rates between plans must be equivalalent to the comparitive rates between our RRP prices.

A setup fee of $1000+gst is required to become a reseller. This fee covers the setup of your CMS to match your existing branding. It does not include the creation of branding. We assume you already have a website marketing your business.

A contract must be signed by both parties clearly outlining the expectations of each party. Essentially it contains the information on this page, plus an exit strategy. eg if you don't pay your reseller hosting fees within 30 days, Web Widgets reserves the right to communicate with your customers to ensure that they do not experience a hosting outage. Equivalently, if you decided to migrate your customers to a new provider, that is your option, however, you cannot take our CMS software with you.

Customer accounts are optional, you may decide to run your own billing system offline, and all internal billing features are disabled from the customer. You may also decided to disable the referral scheme.

If your customer does not pay for web hosting in their last month(s), you may apply for a credit after 90 days for upto 30 days worth of hosting or unused portion if longer hosting plans are used.

Your duty is to provide direct support to your customers. You can forward those emails onto our support team who will provide a 4 business hour response time back to you, where humanly possible. However, we encourage you to maximise your understanding of our system to provide a better service to your own customers. We will provide free training from our office on an as needed basis. We will endeavor to provide you a better trade price on hosting if our support time is reduced.
